Can we combine style and technology? This is the best of the Korean manufacturer Samsung that announces a little surprise for the holiday season: the ability to customize the hinge of your next Galaxy Z Fold 2 on the Samsung Shop.
In unveiling the first Galaxy Z Fold, Samsung revealed its research and development in the smartphone industry. With this second edition, the manufacturer now shows that it has mastered the recipe for terminals with two screens. From the classic smartphone, we move to a use that is closer to the tablet.
Recently, the manufacturer allows us to customize the hinge color with four colors and at no extra cost.
A REWORKED HINGE FOR THIS SECOND INSTALLMENT
For the second version of its Galaxy Z Fold, Samsung has revised its hinge. Softer to fold, it is now reinforced, and the manufacturer announces that it has tested its resistance to more than 200,000 openings. Samsung has also ensured that dust cannot get into the hinge. Through our test, the result is a feeling of robustness.
Since the hinge is the centerpiece articulating the two screens of this smartphone, Samsung customizes its color. Directly from the manufacturer’s online store, it is now possible to choose from four colors: Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold, Metallic Blue, and Metallic Red. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 becomes an authentic luxury product with custom finishes by the user.
These colors can be combined with the two variants of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, either in Mystic Bronze or Mystic Black. It should be noted that this customization is free. However, before receiving this custom creation, you will have to be a little patient: the waiting time is three weeks. So it’s best not too late to make it a beautiful Christmas present.
THE MUST TO FINISH 2020 IN STYLE
When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a Super AMOLED glass slab protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. This protection provides increased resistance to scratches and shocks that are welcome for such a beautiful object. The outdoor screen measures 6.23 inches and defines 816 × 2260 pixels for an atypical 25:9 display that occupies much of the phone’s front. It’s thanks to this screen that you can quickly use your smartphone without having to unfold it.
When unfolded, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a larger 7.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a definition of 1768 × 2208 pixels and a resolution of 373 PPP. For more fluidity, Samsung has included a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The fold is slightly visible, but it does not spoil this large and gorgeous screen’s experience.
When folded on the dimensions side, the aircraft measures 159.2 x 68 x 16.8 mm, and 159.2 x 128.2 x 6.9 mm when opened. It is easily transportable when folded and reveals its full potential when unfolded.
A VERY MUSCULAR TECHNICAL SHEET
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest SoC, the Snapdragon 865 Plus engraved in 7 nm with an eight-core chip. The Adreno 650 GPU provides the graphics part. In use, it isn’t easy to take the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 as this configuration is significant, both for games and for navigation.
As far as RAM is concerned, there are no less than 12GB LPDDR5. On the storage side, the manufacturer saw great with 256GB of space in UFS 3.1. The device is, of course, compatible with 5G networks, and, in terms of connectivity, we find Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Wi-Fi Direct as well as Bluetooth 5.0.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a 4500 mAh battery with a fast charging of 25 W wired and 11 W in wireless mode. The smartphone can also transform into a wireless charging pebble, for example, to charge its smartwatch or headphones for a coffee.
On the photo side, the camera has a rear module consisting of three sensors. The primary wide-angle camera is 12MP with an aperture of 1/1.8. We also find an ultra-wide-angle of 12 Mpx (2/2,2).
